Huge fan of this place. Staff is amazing. Sadly it appears it is closed for renovation according to a sign on the door.

This pub was just a block up from our place at the Westin in Times Square. Four of us on a Saturday at 6:00pm and plenty of good tables to be had. Pretty decent beer selection but a bit short staffed, isn't everything? Short menu but we're here to drink. Earlier I dropped my phone to certain doom at Hudson Yards so this is a medicinal visit. Two weeks in NYC and God knows if I'll have a camera for any of it. When drinking you have to eat something so we went with Smith's signature burger, the Chicken Parm and two Blue Buffalo burgers. All were overpriced and the Buffalo burger means a burger with a buffalo sauce. Sadly, it's not made of buffalo meat. Then it would have been worth the money. The few folks that were here were great. I can understand why they aren't very busy. All in all we enjoyed. Nothing spectacular taste wise but it all went down fine, so we call it a victory and move on to the next adventure! 01/24

My wife and I had a little over an hour to spend before heading to our Broadway play. We found Smith's Bar at 44th & 8th and cozied in at the bar. This was the perfect spot! Our play at the Broadhurst was right up the street. Since we had eaten earlier, we just planned to get a couple of drinks. Bonus for us, it was Happy Hour! Our server was super friendly, even though he was also super busy. We intended to just have drinks, but after seeing food around us, we ordered dessert here also. My carrot cake and my wife's limoncello cake were delicious! If you're like us and looking for a place to duck in before showtime, check out Smith's!
